About the area
City Centre - Princes Street
This City Centre location is excellent for transport links to Edinburgh Airport (via the Tram and Airport Bus) and to all major cities via the Train Station. Landmarks in this area include The Balmoral Hotel, St Andrews Square and Waverley Train Station. Major brand shop shops line Princes Street and George Street, including an Apple Store and department stores Harvey Nicholls and fantastic retail shopping in the new St James Quarter Shopping Centre. On the minor streets, you'll find a fair share of boutique shops, pubs and restaurants, particularly Rose Street and Thistle Street. During the Edinburgh Festival, The Assembly Rooms on George Street is one of the biggest venues and the Old Town is a 'hop, skip and jump' over the Mound or when crossing The South Bridge.
